Football Scrapbook Layout Ideas

Have you been searching for football scrapbook layout ideas?

Whether you have a little football player in the family, or an all-grown-up lineman or quarterback, this is the kind of project you don't want to fumble. Even if someone in the family is a football coach, they will have plenty memories over the season that you will want to document.

How you go about creating a football scrapbook layout depends on how much time you have to spare. You can easily find sports-themed embellishments and stickers in craft and hobby stores, or you can decorate your pages using items that are probably already sitting in your scrapbook area.

Quick and Easy Layouts

The fastest way to throw together a football scrapbook layout is to purchase scrapbook paper already printed with the picture of a football field. You may also be able to find alternative printed paper, such as something with a large football helmet or smaller pictures of helmets and footballs all over. Some of the best options are the football field patterns that come with more than one coordinating sheets.

You will also need some type of solid cardstock cut into squares that compliment the size of your pictures. If you have a die cut machine you could cut the squares into the shape of footballs to put underneath the pictures.

Cut out a large square from coordinating cardstock to serve as a journaling block, or you can purchase journaling blocks or tags with lines on them, especially if you have trouble writing in straight lines.

Glue the squares or football shapes onto the patterned paper, arranging according to where you want your pictures to go. One arrangement that works out well with the two-page football field paper is to place one larger photo of your football player on the left side and then put an arrangement of smaller sized action shots on the other page. You can place the journaling block in the middle of the action shots or create a long strip for journaling underneath the larger picture of your player.

Once you have your pictures glued down you can add other embellishments, such as numbers representing your player's team jersey, or other football-themed stickers or die cuts.

Up For A Challenge?

If you want to create the entire page yourself and have a little more time, you can add more customized detail than the quick and easy layout detailed above.

You can create your own football field paper using green and white solid cardstock. The green sheets will become the background while you cut strips out of the white paper and glue them down as the lines on the field. Using stickers or die cuts, you can even apply numbers for the yards along the edges of the paper.

You can get as detailed as you want here. For example, instead of using mats behind the pictures, you can cut your football player out close to his frame, creating a small version of him with no background before gluing it down on your newly created football scrapbook layout.

Even More Football Scrapbooking Ideas

Adjust your layouts to include various mementos that you may collect throughout the football season.

For example, if there are special ceremonies or trophies that are won, special celebratory pages can be created using the team's colors, along with ribbons, newspaper clippings and pictures of those special events.
