National Scrapbook Day

I am so excited to introduce you to The National Scrapbook Day!

For those of you who don't realize that scrapbookers have their own special day, today you learn something new. The first Saturday in May is referred to as National Scrapbook Day in scrapbook world. There are many great events, sales, specials and adventures to embark upon for this day. Try some of these great ideas to celebrate...

Spend some time with your favorite scrapbooking magazine or book and look for a new skill to master. You can decide if you pick a difficult task that you have been worried about doing successfully or just pick a simple task that is fun to do. Invite a friend to join you and complete the task together. Nothing is more fun than National Scrapbook Day with a friend.

Remember to watch the sales ads from your local retailers to be able to take advantage of great sales and other offers. Most retailers will offer special deals and even coupons offering a percentage off when purchasing scrapbook supplies.

After your National Scrapbook Day shopping spree, invite your friends over for an infamous crop party.

A crop party is simply getting together a group of friends to share a few new ideas and a lot of laughter. You could also have a swapping of tools or other items that you either no longer need or are willing to trade for something different.

If you can't get out of the house, spend some time shopping online. Shopping online will give you many other locations to be able to shop with since you can reach them all with a simple click. You are sure to find great deals online in honor of National Scrapbook Day. Some websites tend to offer printable coupons as well that you can print and take into your local retailer before the expiration date to take advantage of great savings.

National Scrapbook Day is a great opportunity to introduce new people to the world of scrapbooking, including children. Time spent with your family is time wisely invested and sharing an activity that everyone can participate in is a fun way to celebrate family. Children love to create pictures and have excellent ideas to share.

Holding a scrapbook event is also an excellent fundraising idea. Many schools and church groups have organized scrapbook events for a small entry fee and have realized a significant profit margin. This offers a fun event for people to attend, and the money raised from the admission or entry fee is used for a good cause. My children's Music Booster Club at school holds a scrapbooking fundraising event every year.

National Scrapbook Day is a great time to expand your hobby, or even start a new one. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate this wonderful day, do it knowing that you are making priceless memories that are going to be treasured for a long time and by many people who are important to you. Holding on to all those pictures you have accumulated throughout the years is a task well worth the effort. Arranging them into something that truly shares your heart is worth even more.
