Prom Scrapbook Layout Ideas -
Samples, Sketches & Inspiration

Picking the perfect prom scrapbook layout is essential to capturing special memories that should last a lifetime.

The prom is something that most girls are changed by and something that most men reflect back on as the "good times" in their life. If the layout designs for this special occasion are chosen appropriately, they will capture not only the images of your prom, but the feelings that surrounded the event as well.

Samples & Sketches

Prom Layout 1

Looking online for prom scrapbook layout samples is a great start. You may not find a ton of layout samples that are related to prom exclusively, but you can find many samples for wedding and anniversary samples, which will include many design elements that work wonderful with a prom theme as well.

Prom scrapbook layout samples are great ways to get ideas for your own scrapbook, though you will need to make adjustments to color schemes and embellishments so that your scrapbook represents the theme of your own prom.

You can also find a wide variety of layout sketches online. You may not find one sketch that speaks to the type of layout you want to create for every set of prom pictures, so feel free to use your own creativity and borrow small design elements from a variety of different sketches and samples to create your own unique prom scrapbook layout ideas.

Add Your Personal Touch

Prom Layout 2

You can't create a prom scrapbook layout without putting your own personal touch to the page. This may be mementos from the special night, such as a small swatch from your dress or a petal from the rose on your corsage. Make sure something special is included to truly personalize your scrapbook.

On some pages in your scrapbook, you may also want to include a journaling block. It's a good idea to include a large block at the very end where you can write down your thoughts and emotions about how the event went. You can situate smaller journaling blocks throughout the journal, or even use write-on stickers above the heads in your pictures to display thoughts and feelings. These words will become very special to you when you are older, when the finer details of the evening start to slip.

One design that works very well in a prom scrapbook is to place a large picture of you and your date one page and a large journaling block on the corresponding page.

What to Include

Prom Layout 4

If your prom is over and you didn't think of creating a prom scrapbook after the big event, you will need to collect all of the pictures you took, plus copies from friends who may have captured you on their camera, and spend time separating them into groups. These groups will eventually go on prom scrapbook layout pages together, so think of a way to organize the scrapbook as a whole as you separate.

If you were smart enough to start thinking about your prom scrapbook before the big night, think of taking pictures at every phase of the day. Capture yourself getting your nails and hair done, getting dressed, walking to the door to greet your date, and everything that happens after you walk out of your home.

Remember, everyone is taking pictures at a prom, so you should collect pictures from all of your friends before you make final decisions about what pictures will go on what layout together!
