These Red Hat scrapbooking tips will inspire you to put your personality and some of the best moments of your life on display.
Have you ever thought of passing your Red Hat Society memories on to your grandchildren? Is it important to you to show your family who you are, how you live your life, and what makes you happy? If so, scrapbooking your time in this organization could be the perfect project to fill your free time. Not only is it relaxing and enjoyable, but it allows you to put your personality and some of the best moments of your life on display.
It doesn't matter if you are just getting started with the Red Hat Society or if you already have a growing pile of memorable photos. You can start where you are right now and continue expanding the project as you go.
There are some clear advantages and disadvantages to different album sizes. A full sized 12 x 12 album will require more Red Hat scrapbooking supplies which may increase the overall expense of creating your album, but it also gives you ample room for journaling and recording your personal thoughts. Also, it will accommodate more photographs.
If you go with a smaller album you won't need as many scrapbook supplies, but you also will be limited on how many photos you can include on each page and how large your journaling blocks can be.
It is best to choose an album where the pages are created and then dropped into plastic sleeves that are attached to the book. This will allow you to rearrange the pages as necessary, while an album with the pages already attached will not allow this.
It is easy to jump right into shopping for supplies at this point, but it is worth the time to arrange any photos you already have first. Put them into groups according to which ones might go on the same page together, placing each set in labeled envelopes.
With the right supplies on hand, your layouts will come together quickly. Here are some basic supplies that will get you off to a good start:
* Colored cardstock paper (lots of red and purple, plus accent colors)
* Adhesives (remember pop up glue dots for emphasis)
* Embellishments, such as stickers and rub-ons
If you have any difficulty finding embellishments to use, you can make your own using a die cut machine, or purchase them directly from the Red Hat Society store. Other ideas include ribbon, punches, and stickers.
When purchasing your supplies, keep in mind the size of your layout page and how many pictures are going to be placed on that layout. You will need less page decorations if you have a lot of pictures or a large journaling block taking up space. You don't want the page to be overcrowded or take away from your photos.
Actually creating your Red Hat scrapbooking layout pages is the fun part! Remember to let your personality come through, and don't be afraid to play with colors and designs.
