You can use ordinary household items for your scrapbook punches storage system. If you are just starting out, a shoebox may be sufficient. However, before you know it, your collection of punches may threaten to overtake your scrapbooking area. When this happen, it's time to retire the shoebox and look for other alternatives.
There are many different ways to keep them organized, but here are a couple of my favorites, using inexpensive household items:
Use an over-the-door shoe organizer with clear pockets. These are inexpensive and easy to install. They allow you to easily find the punch you want, and to put it away when finished with it.
Curtain rods installed near your work area also work well for storing scrapbooking paper punches. The punches are handy, yet don't take up space in your work area. Be sure to install the rod into a stud, or if studs are not available where you want the rods installed, use heavy duty anchors.
If you do not have wall space to hang curtain rods or towel racks, consider installing the rack on the front of a solid wood bookcase.
Believe it or not, vinyl rain gutters can be a practical scrapbook punches storage solution. I originally heard about using vinyl rain gutters for kids' rooms, but now I know crafters who have adopted this idea for their spaces. Here are easy instructions for installing rain gutters inside for storage: Rain Gutter Book Shelves.
Wall shelves come in many different widths and lengths. If you can't find exactly what you want, consider making your own. For a minimal fee, many lumber stores will cut wood to size for you.
