Scrapbooking CardsScrapbooking cards has become one of my favorite hobbies, and one that I share with my children as well. While I have always enjoyed creating larger scrapbooks of my family and even framing scrapbook pages as gifts, I have discovered that creating smaller versions of those scrapbook pages has a lot of benefits
Scrapbook Cards Save Time It can take a lot of time to design a single page for a larger scrapbook. You have to select the photos to be featured and find all the supplies that will bring out those photos, and then of course comes the designing and construction of the layout. I love doing all of that, but I often don't have the time. When I create scrapbook cards I get to do all of those things but it only takes a fraction of the time. I can throw together three or four cards easily in the time it might take me to create a larger scrapbook layout.
Scrapbook Cards Save Money
When I create full page layouts for my scrapbooks, I almost always have to purchase something new whether it is paper with a specific color or stickers, ribbon, and other accessories that match a theme. With scrapbook cards, I simply use the leftovers from my other projects and never have to purchase anything new. It's amazing what can be done with all the little scraps of paper, ribbon, buttons, stickers, rub ons, and leftover letters that many people just throw away. I collect mine into old Easter baskets and Halloween buckets, each one designated for scraps of different colors so it is easy to coordinate them around the colors needed for a card. Since these cards cost me nothing to make, I save money over buying store bought cards that will just be tossed in the trash after I give them away.
I enjoy creating my cards with my children and it turns into some of the best memories I will have with them. They enjoy picking out different color schemes and finding matching scraps from the baskets and buckets. They also develop hand and eye coordination and artistic skills as they create their own cards. Finally, they learn how good it feels to care for others as they give their cards to friends and family members who they love.
Scrapbook Cards Lower Blood Pressure
Some people do Yoga or Pilates to lower their blood pressure and ease the stress of daily life, but I find making these cards does the same thing for me. It is very relaxing and enjoyable, and it is near impossible to frown while making a scrapbook card. This is a craft that literally anyone can do, no matter what kind of budget you have to work with. If you already do scrapbooking on some level, you simply have to find a way to start collecting all those leftovers that you might otherwise toss in the trash. Even small squares or scraps of paper can be turned into unique features for a scrapbook card. If you don't do any sort of scrapbooking yet, then you can buy some cheap supplies at a dollar store and start making cards or full sized layouts right away.

Text BoxThis is the same full width textbox as used on the main body column. However, it automatically resizes to fit the narrower column, as it isnt a fixed width. A pale background like this is ideal for putting testamonials in. |
